Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay….take a hit.

Ah, the stoner film….such a rich and glorious history it has had. From Spicoli in Fast Times at Ridgemont High to The Dude in The Big Lebowski…..from Cheech and Chong to Dazed and Confused….classics all around.

I was an unashamed fan of the original Harold and Kumar movie. It was a film with a real sharp sense of humor…sure, it was crass but it was fun. Here’s two characters worth investing in. Not your typical doe-eyed, long haired stoners we are used to seeing in movies, but two guys kinda like the ones you see at parties….two guys kinda like you and me.

Well I’m happy to report that Harold and Kumar are just as potent in this crazy but clever sequel. The gross-out level is slightly raised but it’s all for a good cause as our two hero’s fall in and out of insane situations that would make Cheech and Chong blush.

I just hope it is successful enough to spawn a few more sequels as I truly think these guys have the potential to be cultural icons.
