21….a losing bet

Sorry Mr Spacey, I dig your acting and all, but this flick just didn’t cut it for me buddy. I noticed you produced the damn thing and hey, good for you for branching out into the production game, but you really should have waited for another vehicle to come along. Your role in the film was generic and dull. You breezed around the crappy dialogue like you were almost taking the piss and showed up those annoying amateur actors around you as the lame-arse punks they are.

Lucky you were in this film Mr Spacey, or else I probably wouldn’t have even bothered with it. You are forever watchable I admit, but what were you thinking letting that two-bit Aussie hack Robert Luketic direct you? Didn’t you see his resume before you started? Legally Blonde? Monster In Law?

Surely you too must have laughed when you watched back the final film and saw the endless slow motion shots Luketic was using to create some sort of dramatic nuance to a scene. It really got out of hand. Alarm bells ring for me when a director uses the old slow-motion technique not once, not twice, but about six or seven times throughout a film….and for such pointless things as someone crossing a street, opening a car door or unzipping their fly about to take a leak. A tad overused don’t you think Mr Spacey?

Look, the film is watchable. It had one or two moments, but anyone who couldn’t predict the entire story from the opening credits onwards should quit watching flicks.

I just hope my suspicions are correct Mr Spacey and this was just one of those films to fill the bank account or maybe to finance a REAL project you are working on. Fingers crossed.
